Remodeling moving along as project nears finish line
LANDRUM – Construction at the new Aldi grocery store, located at 1750 Hwy.14 East in Landrum, is progressing as the area gets closer to having another option for grocery shopping.
Announced in August of last year, construction and remodeling at the Aldi store is expected to be complete in July. Aldi signed the lease for the building last fall, and the remodeling of the new store is being handled by Morgan Construction Company, Inc. of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Bi-Lo was previously located in the building and closed in April 2021, leaving shoppers in the area with fewer options for grocery shopping. Aldi is known for its unique warehouse-style shelving and competitive prices and hopes to offer a simplified shopping experience to area residents.
Aldi is currently hiring for the new location, including full-time store manager trainees, full-time assistant store managers, part-time stockers, full and part-time store associates, and part-time cashiers.
