Events feature local art and live music
SALUDA–Those interested in supporting local artists in a fun environment will have an opportunity to do so at an upcoming series of Art Pop-Ups in Saluda.
On Sunday, April 30, eARThly Minds Gallery will be holding its first Art Pop-Up of the year at Green River Brew Depot, from 1 to 5 p.m.
From April to October, on the last Sunday of each month, the Art Pop-Ups will feature a rotating roster of food trucks, local musicians and various vendors with local art available to purchase. The free events are family and dog friendly, and take place rain or shine.
Now in year five, the Art Pop-Ups have continued to grow steadily, and there is already a waitlist of vendors for the first three months.
“The Art Pop-Up makes for a wonderful opportunity to get out of the house, grab a beer, have some dinner, do some shopping, listen to live music, and just have a great time,” says organizer and co-owner of eARThly Minds Gallery Kristen Mode. “It’s ‘Sunday Funday’ at its finest in Saluda, an afternoon of community love.”
The music begins at 1 p.m. on the Green River patio with solo artist Kool Dewey Kudzu, a singer-songwriter out of upstate South Carolina. He will be followed at 3 p.m. by the Paper Crowns, a power duo out of Asheville. For the fifth time, Arepitas on the Go out of Rutherfordton will be serving Latin American gourmet cuisine.
Green River Brew Depot is located at 26 Church Street in Saluda. For more information, visit @earthlymindsgallery or @kaleidoscopestudios.art on Instagram.
