Bonnie Roth Leonard, 80, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Ralph and Esther Roth. She attended Washington University in St. Louis and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority.
Bonnie moved to Greenville, South Carolina with her young family in 1973. She was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church for many years and later First Presbyterian Church in Greenville. Bonnie was a talented seamstress who created and altered hundreds of bridal gowns and other formal dresses over several decades. Additionally, she excelled as a florist at Floral Designs, Ltd. in Greenville, specializing in wedding arrangements.
Bonnie was the beloved mother of three children: Julie Burns (Grant) of Greer, Scott Leonard (Laura) of Murrells Inlet, and Greg Leonard (Valerie) of Summerville. Her six grandchildren, Camden Burns, Emory Burns (Emily), Grace Leonard, Colin Leonard, Kayleigh Leonard, and Lucas Leonard, all loved her very much and called her “Ga Ga Bonnie.”
A celebration of life will be scheduled later this spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043: or John Knox Respite Care Program, 35 Shannon Drive Greenville, SC 29615.
