No injuries reported in accident
POLK COUNTY–On Thursday morning, a tractor-trailer flipped on I-26 East. Columbus Fire Department responded to the incident. No injuries were reported.
The accident occurred at mile marker 64 when the driver of the tractor-trailer lost control while coming down the grade and the rear trailer flipped and came to rest on its side, according to Capt. Dylan Priester with Columbus Fire Department.
Engine 22 was on the scene, and there was no hazard to the public according to officials. The interstate remained open while personnel worked to assess the situation, but will need to be temporarily closed while the trailer is uprighted by Jackson Wrecker Service.
