Columbus– The family of Darla Jean Pratt would like to let her friends and community know that she’s had a recent change of address. After residing in OH, FL, and NC, she is now living with her Lord and Savior in heaven. She moved gracefully and peacefully on March 13, 2023.

Darla was a daughter, sister, pianist, organist, and flight attendant with Eastern Airlines where she met a charming jewelry salesman from Rhode Island, Charles “Chic” Pratt. She then became a wife and homemaker, mother of two daughters, PTA member, Girl Scout Leader, and advocate for the unborn.

After her children were grown, she worked as an EMT before beginning a career as a nurse. Darla retired after over 25 years of nursing so she could care for Chic, her beloved husband of 54 years.

She was Grammie to 11, Great-Grammie to 2, and counting…who will be missing her cards and calls and special renditions of “Happy Birthday!”

She loved her country fiercely, but above all else, Darla loved and served the Lord with all her heart and prayed faithfully as led. She also loved and was loved by her church family in Landrum, CFCF.

She’d longed for heaven and home…and for now, until we see her again, she will be so very missed.
