Friday, March 3, is opening night for Tryon Little Theater’s “State Fair.”
Running for two weekends at the Tryon Fine Arts Center, this Rodgers and Hammerstein show has been described as family-friendly, crowd-pleasing, toe-tappable, knee-slappable, and charming!
Directed by Dan Harvey, with musical direction from Pam McNeil, a cast of 25 talented actors brings the 1946 Iowa State Fair to the stage. The fair is the highlight of the year for the Frake family as they leave behind the routine of the farm for three days of adventure. Mom and Pop Frake have their hearts set on winning blue ribbons, while their children have their hearts set on finding romance.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $12 for those under 18 and can be purchased online at www.tltinfo.org, or by calling 828-859-2466. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, (March 3 and 4, and March 10 and 11) with a 3 p.m. curtain on Sundays (March 5 and 12).
