Dustin Lucas McDowell was wanted on felony breaking and entering, other charges
POLK COUNTY– Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday morning that a wanted subject was taken into custody after it and other area law enforcement searched the Smith Waldrop Rd. area of Mill Spring.
After a short foot chase, Dustin Lucas McDowell was taken into custody by Sheriff Wright and Captain Tarker off Peniel Rd.
McDowell was wanted on felony breaking and entering and other felony and misdemeanor charges, and a K-9 and drone were deployed in the area during the search. Officials said that a tip from the public led to the apprehension.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, McDowell is being transported to the Polk County Detention Center and will go before a magistrate regarding these most recent charges.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office thanked members of the public who checked in with local law enforcement throughout Friday morning after it announced that the search was underway.
