Coach Brent Bridges named next head football coach at Landrum High School

CAMPOBELLO–The Spartanburg One Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Coach Brent Bridges as the next head football coach of Landrum High School. Coach Bridges is currently the offensive coordinator at Broome High School. In Spartanburg School District 3, Coach Bridges is also the youth sports liaison, overseeing the camps, coach’s clinics and program.
At Broome, Coach Bridges has served as defensive coordinator, special teams coordinator, and linebackers coach. Coach Bridges began at Broome as assistant coach/linebackers coach in 2012. He has held various positions and was named offensive coordinator in 2017.
Coach Bridges began his career teaching and coaching at Chesnee High School. While at Chesnee, Coach Bridges served as offensive coordinator, strength and conditioning coach, and head football coach from 2006-2011. During his time coaching at Chesnee, their football team went through tremendous growth with five years of playoffs with three second-round appearances and one third-round appearance.
“I am excited to welcome Coach Bridges to the Landrum High School family,” said LHS Principal Dr. Kegan Flynn. “He has a track record of success and experience with other programs, as well as a passion for helping student-athletes become leaders and learners.”
“I am truly appreciative of the opportunity given to me by the Landrum High School and Spartanburg One Administration to lead the Cardinal football program,” stated Coach Bridges. “I am excited about my role in educating, leading, and empowering the students of Landrum High School.”
Coach Bridges is a 1997 graduate of Broome High School and a 2002 graduate of Newberry College. He is married to his wife Jasmin, a second-grade teacher, and they are the proud parents of two sons, Blake (15) and Brett (12).
