The ultimate goal of the Fairy Festival is to show community support, help with improvements to Stearns Park, and of course, to have fun.

There will be many things to do for kids, as well as adults, at the festival such as scavenger hunts, story time, and other fun activities. There will be food and dessert trucks serving up delicious meals and snacks to customers. Costumes and fairy attire are encouraged to be worn by attendees.

Last but not least, is the fairy walk. The fairy walk is an opportunity for businesses, organizations and families to show off their artistic side by creating small and unique fairy houses to decorate Stearns Park.

For $100, you can create a fairy house at a tree located in Stearns Park and your logo/sign will be displayed with your fairy house. The trees will be designated on a first come first serve basis.

Additionally, for $600, you will receive a bench in Stearns Park with a permanent plaque with your company’s or family’s name on it. You will also be designated a tree for a fairy house, included at the $100 level.

Fairy houses can be placed the week leading up to the event and will remain up for two weeks after the event. All proceeds will be used for Stearns Park improvements.

“We want to showcase how Stearns Park is a great example of collaboration in Polk County,” said Polk County Parks and Recreation Coordinator Laura Biard. “The Fairy Festival will bring community partners into the park for a day of play, which is just what a lot of people need right now.”

“Attending the festival will be a fun way to bring in the spring season and celebrate finding magic in the little things in life,” concluded Biard.

The festival is set to take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stearns Park.

Stearns Park is located at 125 E Mills in Columbus.
