Columbus– Linda Carol McCormick, 82, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023. She was
born Linda Carol Troxal to Harvey and Letha Carol Troxal (Chitwood) in
Brownsburg, IN on November 19, 1940. She spent most of her life in the
Lebanon, Pittsboro, Brownsburg, IN area but spent the last year in Columbus,
NC with her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, D’Lee Carol
McCormick Worden and Thomas Worden of Columbus, NC and her son Jon McCormick
of Pittsboro, IN. She is also survived by her two grandchildren Logan and
Jenna McCormick of Indianapolis, IN.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, “Buck” Lloyd McCormick and
her sister Rosalyn Wynkoop. She worked for years for Allison Transmissions
and later for Rolls Royce where she retired. She was a member of Bethesda
Baptist Church in Brownsburg, IN for years. She adored, rode and kept
horses for most of her life. This was a life-long passion of which she
never lost interest. She also loved her numerous Scottish terriers which
she had throughout her life. Her scotty Quincy survives and is much loved
in the home of her daughter and husband. Some of her best memories were of
traveling with her husband. They explored the United States and traveled
through Ireland and Portugal. There will be a graveside service for her in
Indiana in the spring. She is now reunited with Buck, her husband of 62
years.
