Columbus– Marvin Michael Helton, 82, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23^rd, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents Kansas Ruff Helton and Uzzell Helton and by brothers Bill and Walt and sisters Lois Kay, Ruby, and an infant sister.  Marvin is survived by his sisters Emojean, Faye, and Sharon.

Marvin was a loving husband who is survived by his wife Jean and children Lachiel, Gerrard, Yvette, Wendy, and Michael, his stepchildren: Donald, Dorothy, and Neil, and multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Marvin was a master builder, constructing many homes in the area, and used his skills to act as a missionary in both Santa Domingo and Monterey Mexico.

Marvin Helton: Christian, friend to many, carpenter, farmer, provider, and a humble man of God.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 1:30 to 2:45 pm followed by services at 3:00 pm at Coopers Gap Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Hollifield officiating.
