Gastonia– Jeralene Raxter, 88, of Gastonia entered the larger life on Friday, January 20, 2023. Jeralene was a committed Christian and a member of Victory Baptist Church for over 60 years where she was active in the WMU, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School. Professionally, she worked as a Legal Secretary.

Jeralene is the daughter of the late Millie (Turbyville) Raxter and Lester D. Raxter. Her sister Glenda (Raxter) Anthony and brothers, Hayward D. “Rex” Raxter and K. D. “Bob” Raxter preceded her in death.

Jeralene leaves behind her sister Judy (Raxter) Ferebee and her husband Randy of Tryon, NC, brother-in-law Flay Anthony, his sister Wanda Anthony (Jerrie’s travel companion and friend) and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews.

A service celebrating the life of Jeralene will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Victory Baptist Church, 1101 Lynhaven Drive, Gastonia. A reception will follow the service. Burial will follow at a later date in Gaston Memorial Park. The Rev. Keith Martin will officiate assisted by her brother-in-law, The Rev. Dr. Randy Ferebee.
