In Polk County District Court on Dec. 14, 2022 with Judge Emily Cowan presiding, 107 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime:
Jeremiah Louis Aponte was convicted of careless and reckless driving. Aponte was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $96 fine and court costs.
Jesus Calderon was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Calderon was fined $30 and court costs.
Charla Nicole Davis was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Davis was fined $50 and court costs.
Kimberly Jane Lawson was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Lawson was fined $20 and court costs.
Brandon Lee Logan was convicted of resisting public officer. Logan was sentenced to 12 months supervised probation and court costs.
Clarence Arthur Mothershead was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Mothershead was to pay court costs.
Prafullkumar Patel was convicted of speeding 100 mph in a 65 mph zone and reckless driving. Patel was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.
Andre Robert Ramsey was convicted of injury to real property. Ramsey was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for time served.
Robert Ray Smith was convicted of consume malt beverage/unfortified wine off premise. Smith was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.
Trent Austin Travers was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Travers was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for time served.
Alex Lee Williams was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone, driving while license revoked-impaired revocation and level 5 driving while impaired. Williams was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a$100 fine and court costs.
Julia Darinique Young was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone, no operator’s license and failure to wear seat belt-driver. Young was fined $50 and court costs.
