Congratulations are in order for Sophia Lilly’s recent accomplishment. The young farmer of Overmountain Vineyards was recognized as North Carolina Farm Bureau’s Annual Achievement Award winner.  For Polk County, her win reflects our strong agricultural heritage and the support we give our young farmers.  

 

Sophia Lilly learned the viticulture business from her parents, Frank and Lita. As the business has expanded, Sophia took on more responsibility and has become a leader in Farm Bureau, both locally and nationally.  

 

As a community, specifically a farm community, I and others are proud of Sophia’s accomplishments and wish her the best as she readies to compete nationally for American Farm Bureau Federation’s Achievement Award in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in early January.
