Tryon Little Theater is treating the community to holiday songs and dance with a jazzy attitude with Cool Yule: A Jazzy Christmas, Thursday, December 15 at Sunnydale, TLT’s event venue located at 328 S. Trade St. in Tryon.
The show, directed by Scott Waddell, is a fundraiser for Tryon Little Theater. While no advance tickets are necessary, there is a suggested donation of $10 per person at the door. Refreshments will be served up with lots of holiday cheer.
All proceeds support Tryon Little Theater’s productions, which provide our community, young and old, the opportunity to experience the wonder of live performances.
Those who come will recognize many faces from Tryon Little Theater productions and other performance outlets throughout the community and area. Included in the lineup are Wendi Arms, Maggie Collins, Brenda Craig, Sam Craig, Cathy Fischer, Tena Greene, Sarah Hubbard, Susie Kocher, Lori Lee, Mason Lee, Amelia McClure, Maria Phillips, Alex Poteat, Jim Powell, Mark Sawyer, Abby Scruggs, Hollie Swofford, Alex Tapp, and Scott Waddell.
Vocal performances will be interwoven with dance breaks featuring award-winning Shag and West Coast swing dancers (and TLT actors) Karen Workman and Roger Carr.
This is the second of what TLT intends will become an annual holiday tradition. After last year’s cozy, down-home theme, this year’s show will have an elegant, jazzy feel. Performers will don their holiday best–you may even see a tux or two!–and guests are welcome to do the same.
