If you want to get outside to enjoy the cooler weather, Laughter Pond has the added bonus (or, maybe, it’s the added challenge) of catching a fish or two.

 

NC Wildlife Resources Officers and Polk County Maintenance Department worked together to construct a new dock at Laughter Pond, which is located off Highway 108 in the Mill Spring area.

 

Laughter Pond is a county-owned pond open to public fishing with a fishing pier.

 

Did you know that Laughter Pond generally receives several thousands of channel catfish each year? Each stocking event takes place the first week of every month between May and October, with about 700 fish each time.
