Whoooo’s that calling at night? Our local owl species make hoots, toots, whinnies and even some whistles. Join FENCE for a nighttime walk around the property on Friday, October 14tat 6:30 p.m. in search of some of our local owl species. This event is free and open to the public. Please call 828-859-9021 or email info@fence.org to register for this event.
On this owl prowl, attendees will listen for and try to see as many different owls as possible. If they are lucky, they may get to hear/see Great Horned, Eastern Screech, Barred and Barn Owls. Hopefully, there will be calm and clear weather as windy conditions can make finding owls very difficult! Bring your flashlight or headlamp (something with a red light option is best), your ‘inside voices,’ and get ready for some owling! Ventures Birding guide, Michael Plauche will lead this prowl on the FENCE property.
FENCE thanks the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation for making this event possible.
FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon, North Carolina. For more information about this or upcoming events call 828-859-9021, email info@fence.org, or visit www.fence.org.
