Hwy. 176 and Hwy. 357 undergo alignment, new lanes
CAMPOBELLO––Construction has started in downtown Campobello to install a stoplight at the intersection of Highway 176 (N. Main St.) and Highway 357 (Holly Springs Rd.).
According to Kim Hyder of the City of Campobello, South Carolina Department of Transportation is currently working to line up Hwy. 357, since the intersection must be lined up with Depot St. They are also adding turning lanes and taking some of the road’s shoulder on Hwy. 357 where the post office is.
Hwy. 357 is shut down from Lude Johnson Blvd to Hwy. 176 for construction.
Currently, Hwy. 176 is not fully closed. One lane is shut down as SCDOT works on the ditch on the shoulder of the road.
“They’ve got a lot to do,” Hyder says.
Construction will last for at least one month.
