COLUMBUS – Polk County Public Libraries and Polk County Health and Human Services are partnering to offer a resource fair at Columbus Library on Thursday, August 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. Polk County Public Libraries will register attendees for library cards and provide information about their services and programs. Polk County Health and Human Services will offer car seat safety inspections and details about their car seat, diaper, and prenatal vitamin programs. There will also be raffles and giveaways for attendees!
There will be many other local organizations set up at the event, including The Free Clinics, Partnership for Children of the Foothills, Family Preservation Services, Steps to Hope, Mission Hospital’s Family Support Network, Share Thy Bread, Steps to Health, Blue Ridge Health, Kepro, Pisgah Legal Services, Thermal Belt Outreach, and Polk County Parks & Recreation. Polk County Public Libraries has two libraries, Columbus Library and Saluda Library, with books, movies, music, audiobooks, board games, STEM and craft kits, cake pans, Launchpad tablets, and downloadable eBooks and audiobooks available for checkout, as well as public computers and wireless internet access.
