Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce to hold quarterly meeting

Discussions to include Rails-to-Trails project, projected economic impact
LANDRUM– On Thursday, September 1, Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their quarterly meeting at the Landrum Depot. The meeting will include discussion on the expected economic impact that the Rails-to-Trails project may have on area businesses.
Set to begin at 8 a.m., with a special breakfast get-together before the panel of guest speakers begin at 8:30, the meeting is meant to serve as an informational oppurtunity for local business owners.
Guest speakers will include the Executive Director of Conserving Carolina Kieran Roe and two recreational enthusiasts who play key parts in their communities’ rails-to-trails projects, Hunter Marks and Ty Houck.
Marks is the president of the Hendersonville-based Friends of the Ecusta Trails and of Watermark Landscape Architecture. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Ecusta Trail located in Henderson and Transylvania County.
Houck is the Director of Greenways, Natural and Historic Resources for Greenville County Parks, Recreation and Tourism. He plays a prominent role in Greenville County’s Swamp Rabbit Trail.
Green River Adventures and The Gorge Zipline of Saluda will be sponsoring the meeting and will be giving away door prizes to guests who attend.
