Have you ever wanted to learn more about the benefits of herbal teas and drinks, or how to make your own? You will be able to do just that at an upcoming free workshop sponsored by The Unity in the Community Organization.
The Herbal Teas and Drink Workshop will be held Saturday, July 23 at 9 a.m., at the Unity Seed’s Youth Herb Garden, located at 5620 Pea Ridge Rd, in Mill Spring (located beside Zion Grove A.M.E Zion Church).
Tea drinkers have lauded the benefits of drinking herbal teas for years. Tea comes in a variety of aromas and flavors, and some say it can combat many health issues that plague people daily. Herbal teas may help fight health issues such as indigestion or nausea by strengthening stomach muscles.
Herbal teas are go-to drinks for people who are sick with the flu for this very reason. Many herbal teas have antibacterial and antifungal benefits, and are also great for relieving symptoms such as swelling and inflammation, relaxing the mind, and helping to combat ailments such as insomnia and depression.
The workshop is sponsored by the Unity in the Community Organization and funded by a grant from the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation. The class is free and led by Herbalist and Master Gardener, Cecelia Miller. All materials are provided. Seating is limited. Please call 828-289-9627 or 828-429-8503 for more information and to reserve your seat.
