Cash reward increased for information leading to arrest

 

MILL SPRING– Sharon Decker, Tryon Equestrian Partners’ Carolina President, addressed the public regarding the incidents that happened at Tryon International Equestrian Center on June 24, where five separate individuals overdosed from what officials believe to be Fentanyl.

 

Decker announced that Tryon Equestrian Partners will be contributing $5,000 in addition to the previous $2,500 cash reward offered by Polk County Sheriff’s Office, bringing the total to a $7,500 cash reward for any information leading to an arrest. 

 

“Our owners and leadership team at Tryon Resort are committed to working with and supporting our local sheriff’s department. The events of last week are very concerning to us, and we will do everything in our power to seek an end to the travesty that is impacting so many people in our community,” Decker said on Tuesday, June 28. “ We have confidence in Sheriff Wright and his team, and are appreciative of their swift action to keep our community safe. 

 

Sharon Decker also praised Polk County EMS by saying, “We are thankful that these incidents were responded to immediately by our on-site emergency services team, and that fast transport and support was provided by Polk County EMS. As a result, lives were able to be saved.”

 

According to Decker, management at Tryon International Equestrian Center will be doubling down on their own internal initiatives to ensure a safe workplace. They have always required pre-hiring drug screens for both full and part-time employees and will now be instituting random drug tests for all individuals employed by Tryon Resort. 

 

“We have a strong commitment to creating a safe, drug free location for all,” Decker said in a closing statement. “We have zero tolerance for substance abuse and we will continue to work with local authorities to address this issue directly and aggressively.”
