On Thursday, February 24th at 9 a.m., Kevin Burke of Ventures Birding Tours will lead a winter bird walk around the FENCE property. This program is great for birders of all levels, from beginners to more advanced birders.
Winter can be a great time for bird watching in the Foothills. Attendees will explore the FENCE property in search of year-round and wintering bird species. It is possible that we may encounter red-tailed hawks, sparrows and woodpeckers, to name a few. This program will meet at the FENCE center. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the cooler winter temperatures.
This event is made possible thanks to the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation. The event is free and open to the public. Space is limited for this event. Please register in advance. FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon, North Carolina. For more information or to register for this event call 828-859-9021, email info@fence.org, or visit www.fence.org.
