One person filed for open council seat
CAMPOBELLO—Filing for the Campobello special election ended on Jan. 10 with one person filing for the open council seat.
Wade Peeler filed for the open council seat, with the special election to be held on March 8.
Other elections in the special election for Spartanburg County will be for town councils in Chesnee, Lyman and Reidville.
Write-in candidates are allowed in the special election.
The polling location has changed for this election only. Eligible voters in the Landrum United Methodist Church precinct will vote at Landrum High School during the special election on March 8.
Filing for the open seat has been open since Dec. 31.
Voting will be done from 7 a.m.- 7p.m. on March 8 at Landrum High School for the Campobello special election.
The person elected will join newly elected mayor Jason Shamis and council members Aaron Ash, who was elected in November as well as council members Alician Sprouse and Reitha Stevenson.
Campobello has a mayor and 4-council form of government.
