Wreck claimed 84-year old along Interstate 26 Thursday
COLUMBUS—A Columbus woman was killed in a motor vehicle crash Thursday afternoon along Interstate 26.
Mildred Anne Seay, 84, of Matthew Street, Columbus was pronounced dead at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center on Thursday afternoon, according to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office.
Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said Thursday evening that his office was called to the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in reference to a death that occurred as a result of a motor vehicle collision on Interstate 26 at exit 15 in the afternoon.
He said Seay was pronounced dead at the hospital after efforts were made to save her life.
A forensic exam was scheduled for Friday.
There were no other details available as of press time regarding the crash. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation.
