Spartanburg County collecting supplies to take to tornado victims
SPARTANBURG COUNTY—Area residents who want to help victims of recent tornados can drop off supplies at the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
The SCSO and its chaplains are accepting donations for the tornado victims in Kentucky.
Several tornados hit Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi and Tennessee last Friday night with 75 people dying in Kentucky and many others still unaccounted for as of this week.
One tornado in Kentucky was on the ground for around 200 miles and was the most devastating tornado to ever hit the state.
The sheriff’s office is taking donations Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
Chaplains will be in the far left parking lot of the sheriff’s office, located at 8045 Howard St., Spartanburg, S.C.
Other donations are being accepted through the American Red Cross and Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund.
