The Polk County Tax and Tag office will be closed this week on a temporary basis. Polk County government officials said the office will remain open, but will not be seeing customers inside. There is a drop box available outside and curbside service will be available as well, where employees will wear masks. The department of motor vehicle license plate agency will be able to do renewals through cash or check only. Call 828-894-8500 for more information. The office is scheduled to reopen on Monday.
