Beagle picked up by animal control succumbed to her injuries
MILL SPRING—A Mill Spring man was arrested and charged in connection with a case involving a beagle that died last week.
Leroy Miller was charged with felony animal abuse/neglect in the beagle case, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Miller was given a $4,000 bond and had his first appearance in district court Oct. 11.
Polk County Animal Control picked up the beagle last week with officers saying the dog needed desperate medical attention. Animal control was asking for donations for the beagle.
Later, the sheriff’s office announced that the beagle had succumbed to her injuries and passed over the rainbow bridge.
The sheriff’s office thanked Landrum Veterinary for taking care of the dog and exhausting all options to save her. Officers said her injuries and lack of care were just too much to overcome.
