Saluda– Elizabeth Lawter Justus, 78, of Saluda, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the Elizabeth House. She was born to the late Harold Boyd Lawter and Ruth Pace Lawter and was the wife of the late Kenneth P. (Sonny) Justus who passed away on April 5, 2020.

Elizabeth was a graduate of the 1961 class of Saluda School. She continued a rewarding career as an LPN at several doctor’s offices and nursing facilities. Her greatest joy was cleaning houses and working in her yard and her many flower gardens. She was constantly picking up sticks in her yard and flower gardens and would elicit help from anyone that came to visit. She made the best creamed corn and fried okra!

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Rodney McKinley Justus and her sister, Tona Louise Lawter.  She is survived by her son, Jason and his wife Melissa and their twins, Hunter and Alyssa of Saluda; and son, Ken Justus of Saluda; her wonderful, faithful caregivers, Renee Morgan and June Burrell and many numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial will be held at a later date.
