Polk Schools has had 124 positive cases, 560 quarantines
POLK COUNTY—Anyone wanting to keep up with Covid cases in the Polk County School system can now do so through a new dashboard created.
The dashboard chart gives Covid case and quarantine information for each of Polk County’s schools.
The dashboard includes daily counts of positive cases and the associated number of quarantines resulting from those events.
As of Wednesday, Polk County Schools had a total of 124 positive cases since school began in August and 560 students and staff in quarantine, according to the dashboard.
The most positive cases in one day was on Aug. 30, just one week into school, at Polk Central with 9 cases, according to the dashboard.
Polk Central Elementary School has had the most positive cases so far, at 32, according to the dashboard. Polk County High School has had the most quarantines at 257 as of Wednesday. The high school has had 24 positive cases so far.
School officials said people should note that there are other positive cases and quarantined students and staff that are a result of events outside the school environment and while those outside events may not be included in the chart, the events still impact Polk County Schools from a staffing and student attendance standpoint.
The information in the dashboard will be updated regularly and may be adjusted after weekly review.
The quarantines listed are how many students and staff were quarantined each day and quarantines can last up to 10 days.
People can find the dashboard on a special tab at the top of the page of polkschools.org.
