CAMPOBELLO–Donald “Donnie” Jerry Rhymer, 64, of Campobello, passed away on July 25, 2021. He was the son of the late Donald “Pete” Rhymer and Mary Jean Belue Rhymer. He was the husband of Mary Christina Case Rhymer.
He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Donnie was a skilled farrier and had a lifelong love for horses. You could find him at the rodeo every weekend roping calves or in the arena helping his kids. He loved being around people, the more the merrier. He shared his love of animals with his kids and grandkids and loved to trail ride any chance he had. He loved people with his whole heart and was always there to lend a hand or a laugh.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Brad Rhymer (Brooke) and Jackson Rhymer; two daughters, Kelli Horton (Erik) and Rebecca Rhymer; a sister Rita Hyder (Terry); grandchildren, Grayson and Ian Horton, Ruthie and Rylanne Rhymer; step grandchildren, Mati, Caselyn and Mackley Clayton, Oaklyn and Magnolia Green; a nephew, Cole Hyder.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a nephew, Zach Hyder.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. David Grigg. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
