The Tryon Men’s Golf Association had their opening day on May 24. There were 28 players who played a 2-best ball of 4 net format. The weather was perfect, and they all enjoyed a cookout after the golf. The results of the day’s play were as follows:

 

1st place – Tom Solomon, Dave Hosick, Jerry Perry, John House – 65

 

2nd place – Bill Kelly, Mike Burrell, Mike Jackson, Ken Watson – 65

 

3rd place – Dennis Sakos, George Torres, Art Brown, Bill Hillhouse – 68
