In Polk County District Court at 9 a.m. on Feb. 24, 2021, with Judge T. Mack Brittain presiding, 55 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. 

The following persons were convicted of a crime: 

Bryan Steven Chandler was convicted of 2 counts of misdemeanor probation violation. Chandler’s probation was terminated unsuccessfully.

Rhonda M. Priester was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Priester was sentenced to 12 days in jail with credit for time served. 

In Polk County District Court at 2 p.m.  on Feb. 24, 2021, with Judge T. Mack Brittain presiding, 49 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. 

The following persons were convicted of a crime: 

Matthew Brett Martin was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Martin was fined $9 and court costs. 

Kent Morgan Shehan was convicted of failure to comply with license restrictions. Shehan was fined $20 and court costs. 

Megan Renee Timmons was convicted of level 4 driving while impaired, civil revocation of driver’s license and possession of open container/consumption of alcohol in passenger area. Timmons was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 48 hours of community service, $210 in fines and court costs. 

In Polk County District Court on at 9 a.m. on March 3, 2021, with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 41 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. 

The following persons were convicted of a crime: 

Courtney Deann Conner was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Conner was sentenced to 120 days in jail with 53 days of pretrial credit. 

Charles Clifton Mann was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Mann was sentenced to 120 days in jail with 41 days of pretrial credit. 

Dexter James McCarter was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. McCarter was sentenced to 75 days in jail with credit for time served. 

In Polk County District Court at 2 p.m. on March 3, 2021, with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 29 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. 

The following persons were convicted of a crime: 

Jennifer Lea Scanlon was convicted of misdemeanor larceny of a motor vehicle. Scanlon was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, $550 in restitution and court costs. 

Richard Wade Ward was convicted of possession/sell nontax paid alcoholic beverage. Ward was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs. 

In Polk County District Court at 9 a.m. on March 10, 2021, with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 58 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. 

The following persons were convicted of a crime: 

Sherry McAbee Bailey was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bailey was sentenced to 20 days in jail with credit for time served. 

Jasmine L. Brewer was convicted of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Brewer was sentenced to one year supervised probation and court costs. 

Linda Matthews Perkins was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Perkins was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs. 

In Polk County District Court at 2 p.m. on March 10, 2021, with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 20 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. 

The following persons were convicted of a crime: 

Travis Shane Mills was convicted of a probation violation. Mills’ probation was revoked. 

Thomas Zachary Norris was convicted of breaking or entering and possession of drug paraphernalia. Norris was sentenced to 45 days in jail with credit for 41 pretrial days. 

In Polk County District Court at 9 a.m. on March 17, 2021, with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 46 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. 

The following persons were convicted of a crime: 

Stacy Annette Bradley was convicted of failure to appear. Bradley was sentenced to 16 days in jail with credit for time served. 

Craig Joseph Conforti was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Conforti was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs. 

Robert Brandon Evans was convicted of attempted break/enter a motor vehicle and failure to appear on misdemeanor. Evans was sentenced to 36 days in jail with credit for time served. 

Toriano Adaryl Pone was convicted of resisting public officer. Pone was sentenced to 1 day in jail with credit for time served. 

In Polk County District Court at 2 p.m. on March 17, 2021, with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 21 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court. 

The following persons were convicted of a crime: 

Luis R. Gonzalez was convicted of misdemeanor larceny. Gonzalez was sentenced to 1 day in jail with credit for time served. 

Agbajelola Omob Jamiu was convictedof speeding 102 mph in a 70 mph zone. Jamiu was fined $100 and court costs.
