Stott’s Ford sells first fully electric car in Polk County
TRYON—Polk County has sold its first fully electric car.
Stott’s Ford in Tryon made the sale on Friday morning.
The car is a new Ford Mustang Mach-E and was purchased by Hendersonville resident Keith Anderson.
Anderson said he has a solar powered system at his home to charge the vehicle.
When asked why he chose Stott’s Ford in Tryon, Anderson said, “ I thought it was a nice small town dealership and they’ve been great folks to work with.”
There are not many charging stations locally for electric cars. There is currently one at the Orchard Inn in Saluda. The City of Saluda is also working on a grant to install a charging station downtown.
