Man, woman from Tryon charged with Fentanyl
TRYON—The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 2 people from Tryon this week for conspiracy to sell Fentanyl.
Braelyn Darnell Metcalf was arrested and charged with 21 counts of conspiracy to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance (Fentanyl), according to sheriff reports.
Amanda Leigh Edwards was charged with 7 counts of conspiracy to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance (Fentanyl), according to sheriff reports.
Sheriff officials said the Special Operations Division began an investigation into the distribution of Fentanyl in Polk County several months ago.
The arrests were made following the investigation, which is still ongoing and in its early stages, according to the sheriff’s office. Officers said this week that further charges and arrests are likely over the next few months.
Metcalf was given a $315,000 secured bond and Edwards was given a $105,000 secured bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
