And the winners are…

Tryon Mayor Peoples and the Tryon Dog Mayor Rusty Bunshine (the cat) recently were on hand to select the winning masks in the Tryon Arts and Crafts donation drive/fun facemask competition called Masks4Masses.

Tryon Mayor Peoples selection came during Week 9 (4th of July weekend announcement).

Congrats to this week’s winning mask maker MERRY-BETH NOBLE for her mask donated on behalf of Pi Beta Phi Greenville SC Alumni Club!

Mayor People’s stirring comments about his selection:

“I chose this particular mask over the others because it speaks to me on several levels.

1-The first truck I ever drove was a 1953 GMC pickup that looked a lot like this one. [nostalgia]

2-I like Old Glory; she always represents the best available even if we were/are not perfect. [patriotic]

3-The greenery around the flag and truck. [the promise of growth and a future]

4-The protective mask itself. [the American ideal of a better future if we prepare and work together]”

Tryon Dog Mayor Rusty Bunshine’s entourage sent over a statement regarding the selection of week 10 pantone color chart facemask by Penny Kessler:

“The colors of life’s palette are varied and equally important. The different hues remind him of the range of emotions that all humans feel.”

Week 10 Prize Package is a Tryon Theatre gift bundle.
