County has record turnout at middle school
MILL SPRING—Despite a hot day on Wednesday, Polk County health care workers had a successful day of testing on Wednesday for COVID-19.
The county offered free testing at Polk County Middle School, with local health officials saying the day was a record turnout for testing.
The county has been offering free drive-up testing for several weeks now and this week the testing sites have been throughout the county.
The testing was offered on Monday at the Saluda Fire Department and Wednesday at the middle school in Mill Spring.
The next free testing will be on Wednesday, July 8 from 4-6 p.m. at Wheat Creek Baptist Church.
As of last Friday, the county had 138 pending tests. The tests normally come back within 72 hours of the testing.
