Tryon Seventh-Day Adventist Church receives Food Lion Feeds donation

Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church has received $2,500 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation just in time to help feed local residents. he church’s ministry, Share Thy Bread, will use the gift to purchase food from MANNA FoodBank in Asheville for Polk County residents in need.
“Tryon Seventh-Day Adventist Church is honored and very grateful to partner with Food Lion in our shared focus of serving the needs of the community in Polk County, NC,” said pastor Daniel Bran.
Share Thy Bread is a food outreach ministry that delivers food to families in need across Polk County. It is staffed entirely by volunteers and is a ministry of the Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church. The church partners with MANNA FoodBank in Asheville and can purchase food at very low prices to distribute to those in need. This grant will make it possible to purchase several months’ worth of food clients. It is the goal of Share Thy Bread and the Tryon Seventh-Day Adventist Church to make a difference in people’s lives and to impact them now and for eternity.
Established in 2001, the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding the hungry in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $12 million in grants.
