Man accused of posing as 14-year old to get nude pictures
LANDRUM—A Landrum man was arrested this week for posing as a teenager on Facebook to get nude photographs of a 13-year old girl.
Benjamin Wayne Johnson, 36, of Landrum, was arrested on Jan. 27 by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, according to arrest records,
Johnson was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to Greenville County Sheriff reports.
According to Greenville County warrants, in November 2018, Johnson pretended to be a 14-year old boy and Facebook and made contact with a 13-year old girl out of Upstate South Carolina.
Johnson allegedly told the girl to take nude photos and a video and send them to him, which he received, according to reports.
Greenville County deputies arrested Johnson after linking his email address associated with the Facebook account, according to warrants. Deputies used Google to determine he acted in Greenville County.
Johnson was taken into custody and is still being held at the Greenville County Detention Center, according to reports.
