O.P. Earle Elementary welcomes students with a Clap In

LANDRUM—O.P. Earle Elementary School students were welcomed back in style on Monday, August 19 with a “Clap In”.

All of the O.P. Earle students were lined up in the schools car rider circle before they walked around the building and into the main entrance of the school. Friends and family were invited to help welcome the students with a Clap In. They lined up along the sidewalk from the side of the building all the way to the front entrance, dancing, singing and clapping for their young students as they begin another school year.

Principal Brian Murray was in especially high spirits, giving the students high fives and dancing along with them as they made their way back into the building. The tired faces of the young students getting back into the routine of early mornings could not be hidden.  Students struggled to match Murray’s excitement but that didn’t dull the experience.

Immediately following the Clap In, Principle Murray gave a brief statement, thanking the parents and friends for participating in the first day of school event. He expressed his excitement for the new school year and the opportunity to welcome a new batch of students into the Landrum public school system.
