City projects update

 

LANDRUM—The additional parking lot located next to the Landrum Train Depot has been completed. The parking lot is situated between the Landrum Depot and the Landrum Fire Department. 

Prince did the paving for the parking and it is expected that the landscaping work will be completed within the next two weeks. The City of Landrum will start pushing people that rent the depot to use that additional parking lot to free up the spaces on Trade, making the new lot the “preferred parking” area. The new parking lot adds 24 additional standard parking spaces and one handicap space. 

Drainage improvements will be coming to Brookwood Park in the near future. The changes will take roughly two days of onsite work; the park will have to be closed for at least one of those workdays said City Administrator Rich Caplan. The asphalt at the entrance to the park will be torn up in order to place a new drainage pipe that will help divert water away from the entrance, preventing vehicles from entering into the park.
