Ronny Lance

Ronny Lance, 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2019. Ronny was born in Brevard, NC and lived many years in Atlanta, GA. He called Polk County home for the past 27 years.

Ronny was an honest, fun-loving family man with a great sense of humor who loved golf. For many years he was known as “Coach Pappy” while coaching youth soccer in both Transylvania and Polk counties.

His favorite hobby was mowing grass and he loved the Georgia Bulldogs.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Edith; daughter Shea (Michael); son Brian (Elizabeth); granddaughters Riley (Andrew), Gracelyn, Brianna and Haley; grandsons Xan, Lance and Brayden and great grandson, Grant. Also surviving are his brothers Mike Lance, Jeff Lance (Glenda) and Mark Lance (Becky).

He was preceded in death by his sister Brenda Lance in 1960; father Ralph Lance in 2009 and mother Louise Lance in 2019.

He will forever in our hearts and greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at 4 pm on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019 at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, NC, officiated by Pastor Marcus Hayes of Biltmore Church. The family will receive friends from 3-3:45 p.m. prior to the service. A reception of friends and family will be held at the home following the service.
