Campobello man receives 15-year sentence

CAMPOBELLO—In 2017 an investigator with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office found someone requesting child porn online. Investigators tracked the request back to Brogon’s home and obtained a search warrant for the residence.
During the search, investigators found more than 40,000 files of child pornography and hidden cameras in his bedroom and bathroom that he used to film adults and children for nearly 14 years since 2003 at 158 Ridings Road, Campobello.
On Wednesday May 22, Circuit Court Judge Mark Hayes heard Brogdon’s case and charged him with five years for voyeurism and ten years for exploitation, the sentences are to be served concurrently and Brogdon will be registered as sex offender.
Brogdon was originally charged with 11 counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, nine counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor, 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and six counts of voyeurism.
Brogdon pleaded guilty to the nine counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor and the six counts of voyeurism.
