Power outage in Columbus

Truck knocked out power to nearly 1,200 Tuesday
COLUMBUS—A dump truck wreck caused a power outage in Columbus Tuesday evening.
Duke Energy reported that almost 1,200 customers were out of power in the area.
The Columbus Fire Department reported that the dump truck took down lines on U.S. 74 and asked area residents to use caution because the traffic lights downtown were also down.
One lane of U.S. 74 was shut down during the time of the incident.
The power outage was restored to the 1,192 customers around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
