Delicious smells of fresh, homemade spaghetti, warm Italian bread and scrumptious desserts will fill the air as the Kiwanis Club of Tryon invokes an evening of Italy on Melrose.
The service club’s annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held Thursday, March 28, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., in the great hall at Holy Cross Episcopal Church at 316 Melrose Ave., and the public is invited. Take-outs and wine will be available.
Tickets are available at the door, at Main Street Insurance in Tryon, and from any member of the Kiwanis Club of Tryon. Kiwanis Club of Tryon has served this community for more than 90 years, helping to meet the needs of children and families in Polk County through volunteer support and donations. Along with numerous other requests for funding, the club supports a Key Club at the high school, Terrific Kids recognition at the elementary schools and Aktion Club for adults with disabilities.
Kiwanis Club meetings are held at noon each Wednesday at Congregational Church, starting with a catered lunch by Mary Prioleau, a short meeting and informative presentation.
