Bernice Wilson Culbreth

Tryon, NC—Bernice Wilson Culbreth, 86, of Tryon, NC passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019.   

Bernice was a Polk County Native, and daughter of the late Clarence Edward and Abbie Arledge Wilson of Tryon, NC.  She was a member of Tryon First Baptist Church and a retired employee of Bank of America in Tryon after 40 years of service.  Bernice was an avid Atlanta Braves Baseball and Duke Blue Devil Basketball fan. 

Surviving is her husband of 59 ½  years, Edward Culbreth; a son, Philip Culbreth and his wife Patricia of Tryon, NC;  one granddaughter, Nicole C. Wall (Ryan) of Landrum, SC; two step grandchildren, Christy S. Hendricks (Mark) of Hendersonville, NC and Ryan Sumner (Khristie) of Chesnee, SC and five great grandchildren, Blake Wall, Olivia Searcy, Dalton Hendricks (Amber), Savanah Sumner and Lucas Sumner.  Also surviving is a great niece, Gingi Green and a great nephew, Jimmy Littlefield. 

Bernice was the last surviving member of her family.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by he only sister, Virginia W. Weaver and a special niece Carylon W. Littlefield.   

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, NC with Dr. Daryl Maxwell and Dr. Jeff Harris officiating.
