Green Blades to host presentation on native plants of Blue Ridge Mountain region Feb. 14

Jay Kranyik, the garden manager of the Botanical Gardens in Asheville, will speak at the next Green Blades Garden Club meeting, which will take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Tryon Fine Arts Center. 

Kranyik will speak on native plants in the home landscape. The Botanical Gardens feature only native plants of the Southern Appalachians.

The 10 acres of grounds feature a half-mile trail that meanders through several different plant environments from the shade to the sun, to meadow and woods featuring over 600 species of native plants.

Tryon Fine Arts Center is located at 34 Melrose Ave., Tryon. The public is invited to attend the meeting.
