Four Polk County students to compete in poetry contest Monday at TFAC

Polk County Schools staff, families and friends are invited to attend the second annual Poetry Out Loud District Contest, to be held Monday at Tryon Fine Arts Center. The event is set for 5 p.m. and is free to attendees. Four Polk County students – Jillian Snyder, Grace Basye, Sadie Rogers and Faith Wanicka – will take part in the competition. Each will recite three poems from memory for the audience and judges. One student will be chosen to represent Polk County in the state finals on Feb. 16.
