PCVC 12U squad wins I-85 League opening tourney

Polk County Volleyball Club’s 12U squad opened its 2019 season Saturday by claiming the tournament title at the I-85 League Series Stop No. 1 event in Spartanburg.

PCVC finished 4-0 for the day and did not lose a set en route to winning the tournament.

The I-85 League Series is designed for younger, less experienced travel clubs. Additional tourmanents are planned for February in Greensboro and March in Charlotte.

The 12U squad is coach by Jon Ezell and includes:

• Harper Harris

• Kylie Lewis

• Sophia Overholt

• Morgan Yoder

The 13U squad began two days of play on Saturday with two victories in pool play. The team will compete in bracket play on Sunday.
