Wolverine wrestlers fall in conference clash at Mitchell

Mitchell handed Polk County a 51-25 loss Thursday in Western Highlands Conference wrestling action in Ledger.
The Wolverines grabbed an early 9-0 lead as Kaden Jobe won at 160 pounds by decision and Trey Thompson notched a pin at 170 pounds. But the Mountaineers won the next seven matches to take command of the match.
Polk County’s Preston Burnett (126), Brennan Worthington (132) and Bryson McCraw (138) were also winners for the Wolverines.
Polk County is slated to host the Wolverine Duals on Saturday, with five teams visiting for a full day of wrestling competition.
